HIGHLIGHTS

In Brazil, showers fell in the south portion the last 48 hours. Most rain amounts were a quarter inch or less, however northwest areas of Rio Grande do Sul picked up 1-2+" amounts. In Argentina, the south portion was also the wettest with some .50-2.00" rain totals the last 48 hours, especially in Buenos Aires. Any rain further north in Argentina was light and spotty. In China, showers were concentrated in the south half of the North China Plain into the northern section of the Southern region with some .50-2.00+" rainfall the past 48 hours. Rainfall elsewhere in the North China Plain and Manchuria was spotty and light.


BRAZIL
    Some rain this week will bring .50-2.00" rain amounts this week, except lighter far nortern soybean areas. Near to above normal precip in much of the region in the 6-10 day period with below normal far south. For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, Mato Grosso Brazil Safrinha Corn and Soybean area temperatures will average near 86.6 F which is 5.9 from normal. Rainfall will average 0.35 . Approximately 43 % of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 43%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19-October 23, Mato Grosso Brazil Safrinha Corn and Soybean area temperatures will average near 85.0 F which is 4.4 from normal. Rainfall will average 1.72. Approximately 100% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 71%.

ARGENTINA

    Overall, it leans drier than normal the next ten days. Above normal precip far north the next 5 days and near to above far south in the 6-10 day outlook. For the 1-5 day outlook October 13 -October 18, Argentina Wheat area temperatures will average near 65.4 F which is 3.2 from normal. Rainfall will average 0.50". Approximately 92% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 38%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19 -October 23, Argentina Wheat area temperatures will average near 66.6 F which is 3.5 from normal. Rainfall will average 1.12". Approximately 100% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more.13

    ARGENTINA SOYBEAN GROWING AREAS - For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, Sante Fe Argentina soybean area temperatures will average near 70.7 F which is 5.8 from normal. Rainfall will average 0.37 . Approximately 100 % of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 0%.13


CHINA

    Most areas will be warmer than normal this week, below normal temps in northern Manchuria. Manchuria and the North Chima Plain looks much cooler than normal in the 6-10 day period with near to above normal in the Southern region. Mostly above normal precip the next ten days, except drier than normal in Manchuria in the 6-10 day period. For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, temperatures will average near 60.3 F which is 4.3F from normal. Rainfall will average 1.20". Approximately 83% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 75%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19 -October 23, wheat area temperatures will average near 50.0 F which is -5.7F from normal. Rainfall will average 1.10". Approximately 70% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more.13




INDIA


EUROPE

    Near normal temps the next 5 days and near to above normal in the 6-10 day period. Below normal precip the next 5 days and wetter with above normal precip in the 6-10 day period. For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, temperatures will average near 52.9 F which is 2.0F from normal. Rainfall will average 0.10". Approximately 18% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 14%.13


FORMER SOVIET UNION

    For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, temperatures will average near 44.2 F which is -.8F from normal. Rainfall will average 0.17". Approximately 2% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 26%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19 -October 23, area temperatures will average near 45.5 F which is 1.9 from normal. Rainfall will average 0.83". Approximately 98% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more.13


CANADA

    For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, temperatures will average near 41.9 F which is 3.5F from normal. Rainfall will average 0.40". Approximately 59% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 73%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19 -October 23, area temperatures will average near 41.5 F which is 3.5F from normal. Rainfall will average 0.60". Approximately 70% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more.13


AUSTRALIA

    For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, west area temperatures will average near 62.5 F which is -.9F from normal. Rainfall will average 0.55". Approximately 100% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 71%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19 -October 23, west area temperatures will average near 62.9 F which is -1.3 from normal. Rainfall will average 0.43". Approximately 71% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more.13

    For the 1-5 day outlook October 13-October 18, east area temperatures will average near 57.8 F which is -.4F from normal. Rainfall will average 0.13". Approximately 0% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more. This compares to the earlier estimate today of 0%.13

    For the 6-10 day outlook October 19 -October 23, east area temperatures will average near 57.6 F which is -1.4 from normal. Rainfall will average 0.75". Approximately 100% of the area will receive a 0.25" or more.
